Book Review: Break Me Slowly (Shattered #1) by Joya Ryan

Break Me Slowly (Shattered #1)
by Joya Ryan (Goodreads Author)
Kindle Edition, 165 pages
Published March 10th 2013 by Bear & Gunner Publishing LLC

Goodreads synopsis: Graduate student Katelyn Gunn is headed for her first day of assistant teaching when she is almost hit by a car. The nervous and inexperienced Kate is shocked to realize that it isn’t the near death experience that has her heart racing, but the sinfully sexy man behind the wheel. Adam Kinkade is ultra-wealthy, devastatingly handsome, and the most powerful distribution mogul in Chicago—he is also the first man who ignites emotions inside of her other than fear.  Adam is a man used to getting what he wants. And he wants Katelyn—naked and often. Willing to stop at nothing to possess her, he relentlessly pursues Kate only to discover that it is she who possesses him—completely.

Of the three books in the Shattered series, this is definitely my favorite. There is just something about take charge Adam that just spins my wheels, I guess. lol.  It would be nice to have someone so certain you were the one for them and know that they effect you in the same way you do them. Adam did go a bit overboard a few times with Katelyn but I thought this was a fantastic guilty pleasure read. I will certainly pick up as many of Joya Ryan's novels as are out there. I am just enjoying all I have chosen so far.

I read this trilogy between other books I was "supposed" to read. I think reading Joya Ryan novels just keep me excited about reading. Thank you for making reading such a pleasure.

4 Stars!
